Dr Arthikka Kirupal

MBBS, FRACGP

Graduating from the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka with a distinction in obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr Arthikka then decided to migrate to Australia. Completing her internship at Mackay Base Hospital QLD, Dr Arthikka continued to work there as a junior house officer before becoming a full time GP in 2011. In 2016, Dr Arthikka completed her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Outside of medicine, Dr Arthikka has 3 sons who she loves spending time with, as well as listening to music, reading and gardening. Dr Arthikka also likes to devote some time to charity work in Sri Lanka.

I have treated hundreds of women during their pregnancy and postpartum
Completed hundreds of cervical screening tests and promptly referred patients with high risk to specialists
Prevented unwanted pregnancies by providing appropriate contraception

Since university, I have always loved working with women. As a female doctor I can relate well with the gynaecological issues of my patients and provide appropriate care for them. I like to treat my female patients with a holistic approach as it allows me to look after their physical and mental wellbeing, as well the wellbeing of their children/family.
