Your Evoca doctor can show you how to properly examine your breasts and give you the signs and symptoms to look out for.
Breast checks and assessments are undertaken with the utmost respect and preservation of your dignity. Your GP will take time to include in their assessment any significant family history, the details of your menstrual cycle, any hormonal medications you may have taken, and any history of previous breast problems when assessing your current symptoms. Clinical examination involves systematic examination of all four quadrants of each breast, and checking for any changes in the breast tissue extending into the arm pits, as well as checking the neck for any enlarged glands.
Consider wearing a two piece outfit (top and bottoms) so you can undress your top for the examination without feeling too exposed
If you have found a lump or change in the breast remember where it is so you can show us
If you have noted changes or symptoms in your breasts during your cycle, keep a diary of this and bring it to discuss with us
